Review: Meizu Brand Silicone Case
Packaging and Content:
Silicone case box Seems that Meizu is aware of its image, so when you open the box, you'll be able to see a nice black carton holding the silicone case, two screen films – one for the front, another for the back of player –, a small instructions paper and a replacement for the cleaning cloth, there's also a dummy display inside the case. The first thing you'll note is the “M” or Meizu brand in everything inside of this package. This is a nice detail, specially when you see the M in the back of the case or the Meizu brand at the lower-right corner of the cleaning cloth.
Box Contents One by One Screen and back films: These films are different to those you can find already placed on the screen of your cell phone, PDA or other stuff like that. Both are really sticky, so this means they will last for a long time protecting your player's screen and back. Place them correctly won't take more than a couple of minutes, ant its installation is quite simple if you follow the numbers and instructions printed in the labels at both sides of the film. Just remember, when placing films, be sure to do it in a clean table or desk, you wouldn't like to see dust on your screen... and no, you won't take off the dust from the film, I told you, they are really sticky. Cleaning Cloth: Well, there is nothing out of the world with the cleaning cloth, same cloth you get with the player. By the way, it also works great cleaning your glasses. Silicone Case: If you're one of those who already has a generic silicone case for your Miniplayer, you'll love this case. There are a lot of differences between this and the PC Case one. Regarding touch strip area, the Meizu silicone case hasn't the problem to be covering the strip, for most of us, this issue was kind of annoying and some (including me) had to cut the silicone over the strip on the generic case since it reduces sensibility and makes it harder and difficult to manipulate. It is not sticky as the PC Case one, but as I expected since i take it out of the package, Miniplayer fits tight on this case; there are two lateral holes on it, one for the hold switch, another for the USB and headphones connectors. You'll note that ON/OFF button of the Miniplayer is safety covered by a thinner silicone film as well. Another important advantage of Meizu case compared with the PC Case one is that, due its size (kinda smaller) you won't get your player dusty on the edges, nor in the back.
Meizu Silicone case, there's no silicone over the touch strip! An important difference with the generic case is that you won't have the hole to place the belt clip on the back of the case, this is not a big deal, in fact a great improvement for me, since I don't like to go out showing everybody my player hanging on my belt.
Meizu case and generic case: Meizu's over the generic... forget about the bad cutting on generic.
